Office Based Role

An international religious society based in Hammersmith are looking for a Finance Officer to take lead in running the day-to-day finance function. While overseeing all the transnational processes, the Finance Officer will also assist with supporting with payroll, preparing annual accounts and budgets and any other financial administrative tasks. Looking for individuals experienced in all finance functions, use of SAGE and excellent interpersonal skills for effective collaboration within other colleagues.

Duties include:

- Responsible for meticulously managing data input and analysis through SAGE, ensuring precision and accuracy in all financial transactions.
- Oversee the processing of transactions, including purchase ledger, sales ledger, nominal ledger, and payroll journals, while also monitoring and managing expenses and credit card activities.
- Take a leading role in managing the accounting functions for various communities within the Society, ensuring robust financial controls and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Collaborate closely with the Operations Manager and CEO to coordinate banking activities, facilitating smooth financial operations throughout the Society.
- Provide administrative support to the Head of Finance, assisting with various tasks ranging from document preparation to payroll processing and resolving any associated issues.
- Offer invaluable financial guidance and support to non-financial managers and the Society's leadership team, aiding in budget setting, monitoring, and interpretation to drive informed decision-making.
- Serve as a liaison between the Society and external stakeholders, including the Management Accountant and regulatory bodies like Companies House and the Charity Commission, ensuring timely and accurate submission of reports and compliance with all statutory requirements.

Experience & Skills:

- Ability to support a significant finance function
- Use of SAGE accountancy software
- Experience of supporting the preparation of annual accounts and organisational budgets
- Experience of payroll administration
- Understanding of working within a charity or small organisation
- Exceptional accuracy and keen attention to detail
- Good interpersonal skills including the ability to support colleagues with limited IT and finance skills
