Toolmaker - Rapid Prototyping

**Toolmaker / Rapid Prototyping Technician**

This role will focus on aiding the design of prototypes, pre-production and clinical parts for both new and existing products. They're looking for you to become a key contributor towards design for manufacture of moulded components (rapid tools, soft andhardened precision tools) suitable for high volume manufacture. Expediting rapid sample components to support design of new and existing products, you will have full involvement in the development of component manufacture.

**Key responsibilities**:
*Provide technical expertise and practical solutions to facilitate the realisation of original design concepts, existing products, and new developments.

*Design, machine and build injection mould tools to produce moulded parts, for internal/external evaluation and product trials.

*Programming, setting, and operating CNC milling machines and lathes Experience of precision machining and work on small batches or one offs to tight tolerances.

*Programming, setting and operating EDM machines (Wire and sink EDM) including making electrodes.

*Efficiently lay out print builds and execute in a range of print technologies (SLA/DLP, Polyjet, FDM).

*Generate detailed drawings and CAD to support the manufacture of product models, mould tools, press tools, jigs, fixtures, and prototypes for internal/external evaluation.

*Generate project plans and manage projects activities through to completion in line with customer requirements for cost, time and quality.

**Experience and skills**:
*Toolroom equipment experience

*Excellent knowledge of CAD/CAM and rapid prototyping techniques and processes

*Experienced practitioner in all aspects of IT, e.g. Production/Design Management Systems, CAD systems, MS office

*Experienced in the design, manufacture and moulding complex tools

*Ability to work well in a team, and be an effective communicator
