This is an exciting opportunity for a Rural Surveyor to join a multi-disciplinary team, on a 2-year fixed term contract, supporting our ongoing declaration process, helping to protect our land and properties for the nation, for the future.

This is a hybrid opportunity; we are happy to explore and agree working arrangements which strike the right balance for you and the Trust. Due to the travel required for this role, you must hold a full driving license with access to your own vehicle, business mileage claimable through expenses.

We are offering a salary of £35,000 to £40,000.

What it's like to work here:The work will vary from being on-site, liaising with internal stakeholders over the significance and benefits of our acquisitions, to preparing business cases that align with our long-term strategic ambitions for our land and properties. This will be a team effort, working with lawyers, GIS operators, finance business partners and wider estates teams in defining and mapping our proposed inalienable assets and supporting them through the declaration process.
What you'll be doing:Building great relationships with regional operational and estates colleagues you will provide insightful advice, facilitating discussion and agreeing declaration outcomes for our land and property acquisitions. You will be involved in coordinating regional resources and undertaking research to support strategic thinking and inform decisions, whilst working within and championing our governance framework.
- Who we're looking forA member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)
- Good knowledge of land use, agriculture, asset management and land management
- Working knowledge and experience in environmental issues, conservation, sustainable development and approaches to regenerative farming
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including influencing and negotiation
- Proven ability to analyse, interpret and resolve rural surveying problems using technical knowledge, implementing workable solutions
- Strong demonstrable consulting skills: listening, building trust and acting to deliver a high-quality service
