**About Us**:
**THE EXTRAORDINARY STORY OF KAKOLI’S PASSION AND DRIVE**
Children’s Services in Westminster City Council is a world of extraordinary stories. Where inspirational people like Kakoli are dedicated to encouraging everyone they work with to be the very best they can be.
Ever since she was a child, Kakoli has believed that children are the ones who’ll change the world for the better. Who’ll create the future we all wish for. And she always knew her calling was to get on the front line and help those who might not be as fortunate as herself.
Kakoli’s vision is as clear now as it was all those years ago - to encourage and support children, and help them grow in safe, vibrant communities. Her achievements are many, but she’s most proud of the fact that these days Westminster doesn’t ‘do things for families’ but ‘does things with families’. And she believes this huge but subtle difference to the way we work has allowed thousands of children in Westminster to fulfil their potential and live their dreams.
**The Role**:
As a Librarian with a particular focus on music services and resources, you can make your own powerful contribution to Westminster’s success. Using all your skills and expertise to support musical literacy, learning, access to information and the connections people and communities make through the world of music, you’ll help to develop and promote our online and physical collections.
Supporting your colleagues to ensure they’re continually learning and developing the ways in which we deliver music, you’ll plan a programme of events, taking our services to community shows, schools, care homes, and other places where music will be enjoyed. Working with corporate communications to ensure the work we do is well publicised, you’ll also keep up-to-speed with developments in the sector, and constantly look for ways in which to develop our services.
Please refer to the **Job Description** for more information.
**About You**:
With either a professional Librarianship qualification, or experience working in Libraries or a similar environment, you’ll have good all-round knowledge of the arts and will have worked with music collections, resources and local communities. Committed to the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion, and capable of training your colleagues, you’ll have excellent service skills and a well developed understanding of customer needs and requirements.
We’ll expect you to be a superb communicator and collaborator, and with this in mind you’ll be an inspirational and motivating organiser of events, concerts and promotional activities. Capable of building trust and using constructive feedback to develop your colleagues, you’ll also understand how coaching and coaching techniques can be used to support people to find solutions and take responsibility for their own development.
**What We Offer**:
