In line with our sustainability agenda, we are looking for an experienced **Packaging Technologist** to join our UK business. A newly created role, we are looking for a person who can simplify our packaging solutions. We are a bakery business who are looking to remove complexity, this role will be suited to a person who is excellent at managing projects, comfortable challenging the norm and working cross functionally to add value.

**You will be great at**:

- Identification and execution of material handling and process optimisation projects to minimise the cost and complexity of our products
- Ensuring all packaging and pallet builds are ‘fit for purpose’ to support our future automation program
- Working with suppliers & understanding the end-to-end impact of our materials & palletised products in relation to sustainability
- Running line and transit trials to review packaging for suitability and testing
- Management & review of packaging innovations and cost saving opportunities

- A team player with willingness to listen and act with the bigger picture in mind
- Strong commercial awareness, balanced with operational and supply chain appreciation
- An excellent communicator

**You have**:

- Experience in the management of simplification & standardisation packaging projects
- Good range of technical materials knowledge and packaging development experience
- Keen interest in New Product Development and evolving packaging material to also support sustainability programme
- Knowledge of packaging and printing solutions and experienced in optimising designs to meet the needs of their customers
- Ability to communicate with internal departments and external customers
- Demonstrable experience of achieving savings through execution of the activities in the category plans
- Good project management skills
