The Radiology Care Group provides a diverse range of specialist diagnostic and interventional services on the Southampton General Hospital site. The UHS radiology service is one of the largest services in the south of England and is a regional centre for the provision of Neuro science, cardiothoracic and paediatrics. Radiology is involved in a range of commercial and non commercial research trials and supports research radiographers and research consultants. The Care Group hosts the Wessex Registrar trainee scheme which has received many accolades

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

WHAT YOU’LL DO

You will be responsible for the coordination of all Trust wide research projects involving radiology procedures, examinations staffing and /or other radiology resources; delivering a range of services to the radiology Care Group including coordination for setting up clinical trials and managing the process for radiology clinical, managerial, financial and operational approval, managing data and information and ensuring financial income is identified and secured.

This pivotal role will also raise the profile of clinical trials within radiology and ensure trials are properly conducted according to Good Clinical Practice (GCP), research governance framework and are compliant with the EU Directive for clinical trials. The role will include management of the radiology clinical trials governance including all Radiology Imaging Management Group (RIMG) meetings.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

You need to be proactive, calm under pressure and have good written and verbal communication skills. You will have relevant experience in conducting or organising clinical research trials/or similar projects in an NHS organisation and be an EDGE database user.

The ability to work under your own initiative, prioritising tasks and managing deadlines as appropriate.

You need to be motivated to deliver research with attention to detail and good organisational skills working across organisational boundaries.

Being a team player is particularly important.
