The main purpose of this job is provide support with the collection of nutrition-related data, its preparation for analyses, and dissemination activities. The post holder will work closely with the NIHR Advanced Postdoctoral Fellow to assist with a research project on comparing different approaches to assess healthfulness in out-of-home (OOH) food, as well as other ongoing projects in the Unit.

**Main duties**:

- Work with Research Fellow in data collection, data preparation, and research dissemination
- Support both computer
- and field-based collection of nutrition data
- Write validation rules to check data quality
- Support the testing and other preparation of datasets to ensure they meet analysis requirements
- Maintain appropriate and documented databases, keeping accurate written and computerised records, and ensure that these records are stored in a secure place and to maintain confidentiality of all electronically stored personal data in line with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulations.
- Assist with producing reports and any other output for stakeholder engagement and research dissemination
- Assist in organising project meetings and contributing to the taking of minutes
- Support other research projects on salt or other dietary factors and health, as well as other members of the charity group on the salt, sugar and excess calorie reduction campaigns.

**Essential requirements**:

- Undergraduate or postgraduate degree with substantial training in quantitative data analysis, or equivalent experience
- Computer literate with excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office software (including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Ability to quickly and accurately collect, input and analyse data
- Knowledge of, or interest in, public health nutrition
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and in writing
- Ability to organise and prioritise own work and organise research within the project timetable
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical skills
- Physical presence and residence in the UK
- Flexible and professional approach to work
- The ability to meet UK ‘right to work’ requirements.

**Desirable requirement**:

- Experience of using statistical software (including R, Stata, SAS, or SPSS)
