The University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) is a dynamic and ambitious civic
institution with campuses across South Wales and in England, together with a global
network of partnerships. Through the UWTSD Group, which includes Coleg Sir Gâr and
Coleg Ceredigion as constituent colleges, it has created a dual sector institution to provide
progression routes from entry level to doctoral studies.

We are seeking a Chair-designate to join our Council and succeed the current Chair when
his term expires. The new Chair will lead the Council through a significant period of change
for the University and the tertiary education sector in Wales, including the renewal of Council
membership and the appointment of the next Vice Chancellor.

The Council is the governing body of the University, responsible for approving its strategic
plans and for governing and regulating its affairs. UWTSD has integrated its governance
arrangements with those of the University of Wales, and its Chair is also Chair of the
University of Wales Council. The Council plays a key role in the work of the University and
has the opportunity to make a tangible difference to the lives of its students, staff and
partners as well as to the wellbeing of its wider communities.
