**Looking for a role where you can make a real difference to someone's life? Do you enjoy building relationships with people while having fun? **We could have the ideal role for you.
We're looking for positive, outgoing and empathetic female* colleague with a great sense of humour to join our fabulous new service in #TeamHawick as a support practitioner on a 30 hour (plus 2 sleepovers) permanent contract.
**The Role**
Working as part of a small team, you'll be supporting 2 ladies with learning disabilities. The service is a 24 hour service but can be dependent on attendance at Cornerstone's day service. Role will include typically 2 sleepovers per week. You will support them in a modern home in a quiet cul de sac in a wide variety of activities and in the local community while keeping safe. They enjoy music, arts and crafts, swimming, sports including football and share a love of films. Part of your role will also include providing support to other individuals nearby as and when needed.
As a Support Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in assisting the people we support with all aspects of daily living, including helping to prepare meals, providing personal care, shopping and domestic tasks. Our teams adopt a person-centered approach to provide the highest quality support to enable the people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations, with a focus on maintaining and improving independence.
**About You**
You don't need experience to start your career with us; we recruit on values and we'll give you all the training you'll need if you're successful. **We'll even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and yearly SSSC registration fees too**
**All we’ll need you to bring is: -**
- Good communication skills
- A caring attitude and approach
- A positive approach to learning
- Confidence in the use of computers
**Shift Patterns**
Our team provide support 7 days a week 24 hour and will include early mornings, evenings, weekends, sleepovers and public holidays as part of your rota.
Sleepovers are not included in your contracted hours and you’ll receive an additional sleepover payment.
**Do you have any questions? **To find out more, please contact **Andrew Will **on 07966185114.
If you’re successful in joining our team, you will be expected to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and must be willing to work towards a SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare as required for SSSC registration. We will need you to register with the SSSC within 6 months of starting your employment with us.
- For this position female is an Occupational Requirement as defined by the Equality Act 2010.
