As a Clearing Specialist, you will be responsible for making sure that cheques, direct debits, bankers automated clearing services (BACS) and standing orders are processed accurately and in a timely manner. As part of your role, you will manage the appropriate escalation and handling process for the customers’ enquiries via all routes within internal and external service-level agreements.

**So what would you be doing?...**
- Processing all clearing payment transactions
- Supporting the reconciliation of internal suspense accounts and making sure that all accounting entries are cleared and accounted for
- Managing complaints and queries related to all aspects of clearing
- Providing appropriate information management and key performance indicators for the reporting managers

- Understand the risks associated with your job and what that means for you, Metro Bank and all our stakeholders
- In order to exceed in this role, you will have experience in processing unpaid direct debits and standing orders, as well as unpaid cheques, including cheques drawn on our customers and those payable to our customers
- We need you to have knowledge of UK check clearing cycle, BACS cycle and direct debit scheme
- If you have knowledge of A-Services, that would be fantastic, however this is not essential
