Childcare Supervisor

**Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for the supervision and development of the Childcare Assistants, trainees and volunteers as agreed with the Deputy Manager.
- To promote a high quality Irish language environment for the children in our care
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children in your care
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities and educational programs
- Supervise and engage children in play, both indoors and outdoors
- Prepare meals and snacks for children, ensuring they meet dietary requirements
- Assist with personal hygiene tasks, such as diapering, toileting, and handwashing
- Maintain a clean and organized childcare environment
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns
- Follow all health and safety guidelines and regulations
- To promote the Irish Language and inclusive ethos of Scoil na Fuiseoige within the Childcare Services.

Personnel Specification

Scoil na Fuiseoige is looking for a person who is enthusiastic, hard working, has experience of working with young children and a high level of interpersonal skills and an ability to learn.

**Essential Criteria**

1. A working knowledge of oral and written Irish.

2. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a Childcare related area.

3. A minimum of 1 years experience in a childcare delivery capacity.

4. An understanding of maintaining and working with confidential information.

5. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels from children, parents and other professionals.

6. Demonstrable team working skills, with the ability to take the initiative and to work flexibly in order to deliver the service.

7. Meet the physical requirements of the post in terms of lifting children and moving and lifting and equipment as required for service delivery.

8. A commitment to the ethos of Scoil na Fuiseoige and genuine commitment to working with children to provide a caring and professional service.

**Desirable Criteria**

1. A qualification to GCSE level in Irish

2. Knowledge and experience of safeguarding within an early years setting.

**Salary**: £12.45 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
