Job Title Rental Charge-hand

Reporting to Asset Manager

We are looking for a Rental Charge-hand to join our Peterhead facility.

The role of the Rental Charge-hand is to report to the Asset Manager and oversee a team of mechanical and electrical technicians in executing assigned maintenance tasks on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with company policies, procedures, risk assessments, and method statements. The Rental
Charge-hand plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient and effective maintenance operations for the rental assets of the company.

Provides line management to:

- Electrical Technician(s) - Rental
- Mechanical Technicians(s) - Rental
- Hybrid Technicians(s) - Rental
- Offshore resources - Rental (when working in the yard)
- 3rd Party Resources - When working in the yard

Key Result Areas:
Asset Management Good Performance
- Coordinate and prioritise maintenance, rectification, and commissioning tasks for rental assets.
- Ensure optimal utilisation of resources for timely execution of maintenance activities.
- Monitor asset performance, availability, and reliability.
- Produce high quality reports and documentation.

Quality Management System (QMS) & Continuous Improvement
- Work in accordance with the MDL QMS
- Monitor compliance with MDL policies, procedures, followed risk assessments, and method statements. MDL reduces our cost of
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and poor quality due to cost optimisation. improved processes
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Support the Asset Manager to drive business and process improvements which will drive increased profitability, productivity, and quality within the BU.
- Adhere to workflow processes which reflect the implement plans to actual workflow of the Asset Management function eliminate waste. and can be audited.
- Support the Asset Management team working to the implemented processes.
- Participate in internal and external audits.
- Support the process of continuous improvement within the Asset Management function that minimises cost of poor quality
- Support digitalisation within the Asset Management function by working with Business Improvement Manager and BU Manager

Human Resources
- Manage and lead a team of mechanical and electrical technicians.
- Provide guidance, training, and professional development opportunities.
- Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork.
- Conduct performance evaluations and address any performance issues.
- Support control of the work and resources of the Asset Management team at the Peterhead facility.
- Support the Asset Manager and HR for future workforce planning
- Work with Asset Manager and HR to identify training and development plans for staff

External Interfaces (Clients, Suppliers)
- Maintain effective communication with clients to understand their requirements and address anyconcerns.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely with key clients and availability of parts and equipment. suppliers
- Foster strong relationships with clients and suppliers to enhance service delivery.
- Support Projects team with client interfaces during equipment client witness commissioning, FATs.
- Work with SCM and Project Cost and Systems Manager and Buyer to drive supplier relationships and reduce procurement risks (schedule, costs, quality)

Deliverables and Key Performance Indicators (KPI)

These key result areas, deliverables, and key performance indicators provide a framework for the Rental Charge-hand to manage and evaluate the performance of their team in asset management, quality management, human resources, and external interfaces with clients and suppliers. By monitoring these areas and achieving the defined deliverables, the Rental Charge-hand contributes to the overall success and effectiveness of the maintenance operations.

Timely Execution of Maintenance Tasks:

- Percentage of maintenance tasks completed within the assigned schedule.
- Average turnaround time for completing maintenance tasks.

Compliance and Quality:

- Adherence to policies, procedures, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Number and severity of non-conformities identified during audits.
- Customer satisfaction ratings regarding maintenance services.

Resource Utilisation:

- Efficient utilisation of resources (labour, materials, equipment) for maintenance tasks.
- Budget adherence for maintenance activities.

Employee Development and Satisfaction:

- Training hours provided to technicians.
- Employee satisfaction and engagement survey results.
- Employee retention rate within the team.

Customer and Supplier Relations:

- Customer satisfaction ratings based on feedback surveys.
- Supplier performance evaluation and feedback.

Continuous Improvement:

- Number of process improvements implemented.
- Cost savings achieved through process optimisations.
- Reduction in the number of maintenance-related incidents
