**Job Description**:
We are looking for an Assistant Finance Business Partner to play a vital role in both enhancing the organisation’s financial management capability and in embedding a more commercial focus into the business. You will be part of the Finance Team, and will provide high quality financial support to our strategic hubs.

As Assistant Finance Business Partner, you will need to develop good working relationships with the Operational Directors and Managers, and other staff with a view to promoting the effective financial management and administration of individual contracts and the Directorate as a whole.

You will be part of our Finance team, and will be managed by the Finance Business Partner. As Assistant Finance Business Partner you will provide timely and insightful advice to Directors, Senior Management Team and other non-finance staff, interpreting financial reports and requirements for them and analysing and utilising information provided by them to produce financial management information.

You will be expected to monitor and report on the financial performance of the operational areas and their services, providing the appropriate financial advice to ensure financial objectives are met. You will also work to produce area and service level budgets, forecasts and, where necessary, reports for funders.

**Qualifications**:
**Essential criteria**
- CCAB qualified or finalist working towards a recognised professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CIPFA)
- Some experience of Charity accounting and Charity SORP.
- Experience in producing management accounts and demonstrate aptitude for understanding budgets/forecasts.
- Experience in the development of proposals in support of business development opportunities.
- Strong Excel spreadsheet skills and a demonstrable understanding of how to extract and analyse management information from core
- Experience with balance sheet reconciliations & VAT reconciliation and returns
- Experience of training and coaching non-finance staff.
- Excellent communication skills - must be able to establish strong and professional relationships with colleagues.
- Ability to work autonomously and to identify and prioritise tasks appropriately.

**Desirable criteria**
- Experience of using MBC 365 and Jet Reports
- Experience gained in both a charity and commercial environment.
- Experience of working in a multi-site/contracting/group organisation

You will need to spend 3 days per week at the Brasted office and occasionally travel to contract sites across the UK.

Additional Information
**Contract**:Fixed-term - 6 months

**Hours**:Full time, 37 hours per week

**Salary**: £42,000-£45,000
