**CNC Turner**

**Reporting to: Production Manager**

**Essential Duties**:

- To set and operate CNC and Manual machines
- Fully understand engineering drawings, raw materials specification and grades
- Sampling parts throughout to determine dimensions and tolerances to ensure good quality finished arts, correct sequence of operations, and all set up tooling requirements
- To always work in a safe manner and ensure all machine manufacturing is caried out with the most cost-effective methods.
- Identify opportunities for and carry out value engineering of machining processes to reduce costs of both materials and labour

**Main Responsibilities and Activities**

Have a full understanding of the scope of supply (the DMS) for each project, considering all specifications and procedures

Receive all issued builds, drawings and materials, machine parts in accordance with supplies drawings, build instruction, processes and specifications and approved procedures

To set and operate CNC cell containing CNC turning/ Milling and manual turning/ milling machines. Participate in Ram Pumps cost reduction programme.

Participate in department training, the aim is to cross-train all personnel in order that in time the skill set will become flexible throughout

Responsible for recording all time (productive and non-productive), accurately to ensure times are allocated efficiently and product costs remain correct

Perform all duties in accordance with the QMS procedures, and in a safe manner according to industry and HSE standards.

Take responsibility for superior quality in your own work, carrying out all deminsional checks in the progress

Inspect and verify all finished parts have been machines in accordance with drawings requirements.

Confer with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems

**Critical factors and competence requirements**
- College degree or equivalent
- Detailed knowledge of the company’ products and services
- Above average ability to communicate verbally in group settings
- Above average ability to communicate in written format using correct grammar and spelling
- Good decision-making skills
- Commercial awareness
- Reliable and dependable
