**Overview of the organisation**
Dartford Tigers basketball club is looking for Basketball Coaches for our Girls programs. The program is rapidly growing with dedicated Academy and Development teams being set up for U12, U14, U16 and U18 girls.
Dartford Tigers Girls Program Objectives:
- Grow the love of basketball in girls
- Improve mental and physical wellbeing of our players
- Provide a ‘safe space’ for girls to build friendships
- Provide opportunity for girls to improve as basketball players
- Compete at a high level
**Overview of the role**
We are seeking Girls basketball coaches who are professional, authentic and passionate about how basketball can transform and enrich peoples lives. The role will be to deliver across our growing girls program:
- **Girls Development Programme **- Coaching a fun, accessible, pan disability-inclusive session where everyone is welcome.
- **Girls Academy Programme **- After Schools and Enrichment delivery across schools and colleges.
- **Community Programme **- Coaching recreational basketball on Saturday morning/afternoon
- **Holiday Camps **- Teaching basketball throughout multiple day camps.
**Main Purpose**
- To plan and deliver high quality basketball sessions in a player focused environment
- Represent the Dartford Tigers brand, promoting our values and vision for the development of basketball across South East and Kent.
- To be an inspiration and role modal to the participants you engage with.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Deliver professional and structured basketball sessions inline with the session outcomes and learning to develop each player individually.
- Be responsible for the session related administration including weekly risk assessments, session registers and incident reporting
- To be responsible for the supervising participants between the contracted hours and ensuring the participants safety and wellbeing in line with the Tigers Safeguarding policy
- To represent both the Dartford Tigers basketball club and Tigers Basketball community in a professional manner
- To work with organisations, volunteers, parents and participants to maximise the positive experience of the participant
- Be a positive role model
**Knowledge, Experience and Skills**
- To hold or have a desire to train for an Basketball England Level 2 certificate or above
- First Aid Trained or willing to obtain
- Safeguarding and Child Protection trained or willing to obtain
- Capable of working with others and managing workloads
**Skills**
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbally
- Ability to plan progressive, enjoyable and developmental basketball sessions
- Ability to establish positive relationships with participants, organisational partners and the wider community to promote the values of the club
- Positive attitude and “Can Do” approach to basketball delivery
**Personal Requirements**
- Passionate about supporting young people’s aspirations within basketball
- Enthusiastic and solution focused
- Desire to learn from and share with others

Pay: £30.00-£50.00 per hour
