**Company Summary**

Operating in the UK for over 20 years, Collingwood's client is one of the nation's leading manufacturers for their specific range of construction products.

Our client recently amalgamated several other businesses within the same industry to create a larger group, all specialising in similar and complementary products. This was a successful initiative and has since seen year on year growth.

Due to their ongoing performance our client was acquired by the leading group in Europe within this specific subsector. The parent companies' turnover sits at £120+ million, whilst operating within a number of European countries. With a dynamic leadership team in position, the ambition is to double the size of this group within five years, through additional acquisitions and organic growth.

Head count for this individual manufacturer within the UK is circa 75nr, with the Managing Director reviewing moving two facilities into a new, state of the art factory by the Spring of 2025. Due to the groups previous performance, together with driven appetite for growth, investment within the UK business is part of the 5 year business plan.

**Role Context**

This person will lead from the front, managing a team of operational departments and staff, including, Design Engineering, Procurement, Estimating & Production Planning, whilst supporting the manufacturing & logistics team.

Working in collaboration with the MD and as part of the Senior Leadership Team, the Head of Operations will help shape and deliver ambitious growth plans by driving performance, quality and staff engagement.

This is a key leadership role, which will be instrumental in supporting a culture of quality excellence and driving the on going transformation of the operational team.

Location: Greater Manchester / North Cheshire

Reports To: Managing Director

**Key Responsibilties**
- Manage and supervise a team of planning, design, estimators & procurement managers and supervisors, providing guidance and support to achieve department goals
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and drive operational efficiency
- Oversee the production schedule to ensure on-time delivery of high quality products.
- Indirect support to the production leads within the business.
- Implement and maintain best practices for manufacturing operations, including lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and teamwork throughout the operations department
- Develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring cost-effective utilisation of resources
- Stay current with industry trends and developments, and recommend innovative solutions to enhance manufacturing processes

For this person to succeed, Collingwood’s client is looking for an individual who can demonstrate the following:

- Ideally you’ll have a Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, procurement or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in general operations, with at least 5 years in a managerial role (not within a continual process, fast-moving production environment)
- Experience of operations processes to support the formulation of company strategy.
- Proven track record of successfully implementing process improvements and driving operational efficiency.
- An understanding of supply chain processes whilst not essential, would be desirable
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse workforce.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to analyse complex data and make data-driven decisions.
- A good understanding of technical detail and design interface.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to develop and manage budgets, ensuring cost-effective utilisation of resources
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Our client seeks someone who is comfortable working within a Senior Leadership Team environment, and has project managed improvements through sales, finance, and operations
