The two Deputy Freedom to Speak Up (FTSU) Guardians will join the FTSU Team and will play a pivotal role in developing the culture across the William Harvey Hospital (WHH) in Ashford and Queen Elizabeth Queen Mother (QEQM) Hospital in Margate to be one that is open, transparent, safe and supportive of workers who speak up. There will be one Deputy FTSU Guardian assigned to each site. When we are able to speak up about concerns at work, not only do we learn and improve, but outcomes for patients and workers are better.

The Deputy FTSU Guardian is responsible for the implementation of an effective and innovative approach to speaking up on their hospital site. They are required to proactively engage with the workforce and should be visible and accessible to those wishing to speak up. They will be expected to handle complex and sensitive information within a wide range of internal and external stakeholder groups for the purposes of communication, negotiation and influence.

The post holder will help to nurture, grow and provide ongoing support to the expanding network of FTSU Champions who support positive culture change locally within teams.
