Ward Inventory Controller

This is an exciting opportunity to join the West Suffolk Material management team based in the Procurement department.
The role is Monday to Friday (core hours) and supports all the different areas of the Trust to ensure we have the right consumables in the right place at the right time. The role will monitor stock levels, raise orders against agreed stock levels and place the deliveries on the shelf in the relevant departments and wards.
Certificate of sponsorship
Please note that Certificate of Sponsorship is not available for this role as it does not meet the minimum salary requirements for the health and care visa (which is a sub category of the skilled worker visa). Currently the salary requirement is £23’200 per annum for the health and care or £38’700 per annum for the skilled worker route.

- Undertake daily stock checks in various wards and department on a daily basis
- Undertake the unpacking off daily deliveries, to ensure all wards and department have the consumable stock required.
- Be the first point of contact for all wards and department for urgent or additional consumable requirements.
- Utilise the different e-procurement systems to place requirements and ensure delivery in a timely manner
- Regular link with budget holders to monitor and reviewing stock products and levels
STAFF CAR PARKING
Staff Car Parking on the West Suffolk Hospital Site is eligible for individuals working outside of the core hours, 07:00 - 18:30.
For individuals working within the core hours, the Trust offers parking off site at the Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club, which is serviced by a regular shuttle bus to and from the Hospital. Details of the bus timetable can be found in the on-line starter pack on the West Suffolk Hospital website.

**Job summary**:
To maintain agreed stock levels at ward / departmental level to suitable availability at minimum cost without compromising patient care.
Ensuring compliance with Trusts Standing Orders (SO’s) and Standing Financial Instruction (SFI’s), in a efficient and effective manner, performing as per the Trusts Service.
**Job responsibilities**:
Responsible for the checking monitor and maintain agreed stock levels on wards/departments using the Trust inventory management solutions (IMS).
Responsible for the producing of all types of ordering sheets, and labels. Ensure product codes, descriptions and requirements are reviewed and updated regularly.
Prioritise all urgent requirements for wards and departments for products.
To check and receipt all stock deliveries into the Trust procurement systems
To rotate and put away all goods ordered and required by the ward/department.
Raise orders with values below the quotation / tender thresholds as per SO’s and SFI’s following verbal requested for prices from the e-procurement supplier list.
Manage and maintain accurate key performance statistics on deliveries, stock issues, returns, and reviews on a monthly basis.
Identify all system/ ordering discrepancies and take appropriate action to reorder/return products inclusive of advising both internal and external stakeholders
