**Duties and responsibilities**:
The Department of Bioengineering is seeking a practical and proactive individual to join it's professional services team.

The postholder will predominantly be responsible for managing and distributing departmental keys, maintaining stationery supplies, assisting with lab and office moves, deliveries, organising room clearances and cleaning, rubbish disposal following staff and student departures, updating floor and door signs, reporting and checking defects, carrying out regular safety inspections. In addition, the role requires organising/assisting with minor work (ie: painting, decorating, shelves, whiteboard installations), arranging room layouts, moving furniture, managing the use of storerooms.

**Essential requirements**:
Applicants should have a proven ability to work in a customer-facing service and preferably have experience of working within the higher education sector, the ability to prioritise and plan work to deadlines as well as having oversight to maintain a variety of spaces (for example offices, workshops or labs).

The post holder should be educated to A level standard or equivalent, possess excellent practical, analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication, organisational and time management skills, strong computer skills and the ability to manage a high volume of diverse tasks. The applicants should be able to work effectively under pressure and with mínimal supervision.
