**Role**

We are looking to recruit a Kurdish Interpreter on an on-going basis.

Working as part of the NHS, you will be required to facilitate communication between caseworker and service user by providing interpretation and translation services.

It will be necessary for you to be fluent in Kurdish and English.

This role is an essential communication link between the service users and staff who provide the service.

Please note that hours will be available when requests come through. The bookings normally happen between 08.30am and 17:00pm Monday to Friday but on the odd occasion, there may be a request for an earlier start or a later finish. Each appointment will be approx. 1.5 hour in duration, and will be within the Leicestershire area. You will be required to travel from home to the appointment, so it is important you are able to access transport in and around the Leicestershire area.

**Duties and responsibilities**

*To interpret information from Kurdish to English in a professional environment and vice versa.

*To be able to deal with confidential information.

**Skills and experience**

*Previous experience is an advantage.

*Good communication is essential - to speak/understand both English and Kurdish fully.

*Reliability and professionalism are key to this role.

*To hold a DBS certificate (Disclosure Barring Service Check) would be advantageous

**Location**

Due to the nature of the role you will need to be able to travel from and to Melton Mowbray. Therefore it will be ideal if you have access to your own transport.
