We are looking for an experienced Head of IT to join a promotional products supplier. The purpose of this role is to take full ownership of the IT, including business IT systems, end-user support, infrastructure, and IT policies.

**Some of the responsibilities**:

- Take centralised IT ownership of key business systems and software
- Work with departments across the business to ensure current systems are being used effectively
- Continuously gather and build IT requirements from across the business, and translate them into technical projects or solutions
- Develop business cases for new IT projects with a clear focus on business value
- Take new IT projects from concept through to delivery, being hands-on with implementation and effectively delegating project work to internal teams or third-party suppliers as appropriate
- Ensure projects assigned are delivered on schedule, and within budget
- Effectively delegate work amongst the team, encouraging good use of individual skills, and avoiding knowledge silos
- Plan and manage a clear pipeline of current and future IT projects
- Promote and enable a culture of process automation and efficiency across the business supported by technical solutions
- Implement and manage SLAs for IT support and infrastructure
- Take ownership for IT Security, with a leading role in maintaining our ISO 27001 accreditation and managing client IT security requirements
- Report to a board level as needed on IT SLAs, ongoing projects, and security topics
- Manage all 3rd party IT suppliers, expanding network and building relationships with key vendors
- Actively contribute to the wider technology strategy, engaging with leads from development, business intelligence, and product
- Build and promote a great working environment, looking after the general health and happiness of your teams, maintaining high morale and embodying company culture and values
- Mentor team members, setting clear goals and identifying opportunities for career progression
- Identify skills or resource shortages within your team, and run recruitment processes as needed

**Some of the requirements**:

- Expert knowledge in Microsoft’s cloud stack including Azure, Azure Active Directory, and Office 365
- Experience with a range of SMB or enterprise software
- Experience with AWS or other cloud IaaS
- Good knowledge of networking including VLANs, firewalls, VPNs, remote access, and more
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent knowledge of IT security including best practices and legislative
- Strong project management skills, comfortable setting project plans, implementing project governance, and measuring progress, as well as being able to run multiple projects at once
- A strong background in IT infrastructure or support roles, comfortable with getting hands-on providing end user support where needed
- Strong experience of ITIL
- Excellent communicator, able to both translate between technical and product, commercial, or other non-technical stakeholders
- Familiar with agile and lean practices
- Excellent interpersonal skills and relationship builder
- Approachable, with an enthusiastic and motivational nature
- Overall passion for technology and drive for continuous improvement
- Ability to multi-task and stay organised in a dynamic work environment
- A strong leader and people manager, with a professional attitude and lead by example work ethic
