Trainee Highways

Abatec is currently looking to recruit Trainee Highway / Maintenance Operatives based in the **Gloucester and Stroud.**

**OWN TRANSPORT AND DRIVING LICENCE REQUIRED**

**As a highways operatives you will**:

- General maintenance of highway - Patchwork, tarmacking, landscaping etc.
- Using various highways tools and equipment
- Always ensure compliance with Health & Safety at Work Act
- Take responsibility for the safety of yourself and others within your team to ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and safe operation to protect member of the public.

**Skills and experience required**:

- Ability to take responsibility of traffic management.
- Have the ability to deal effectively with peers, client representatives and the general public
- Understand and follow basic work procedures to ensure adherence to health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
- CSCS card (Not essential)
- Street works (Advantage)
