The Environment Services department is seeking to appoint a Horticulture Foreman Gardener/Gravedigger. The post is within the Environment Services section horticultural team. The principle role is the supervision of cemetery operatives to ensure the provision of a practical grave digging service and associated ancillary funeral and cremation duties. In addition the post will support the team providing all necessary year-round grounds maintenance duties for cemeteries sites. The post holder will also be expected to undergo updated training in the operation of the Authority’s cremators and provide occasional cover/ support as necessary for the cremation operations.
We are seeking a highly motivated and hard-working individual with experience of carrying out grounds maintenance works within cemeteries and crematorium duties.
