Trainee Technologist

Location: Atherstone on Stour

**Salary**: £27,000k depending on relevant experience

Hours of work: Monday to Friday fully office based role, 7.00am to 4.00pm, working 1 in 4 weekends either a Saturday or Sunday

We are currently looking for a Trainee Technologist to join our busy team in Atherstone on Stour

Working within our Brand and Operational Excellence Approach you will: Proactively meet and exceed customer expectations on technical and product knowledge, industry developments, quality delivery and innovation to enable timely and commercially driven delivery of agreed technical plans and KPI targets.

Fully understand the products that we supply and the challenges and opportunities presented during sourcing, distribution, packing and at shelf edge throughout the seasons. Upholding the highest quality, food safety, ethical & legality standards.

Trainee Technologist Duties:
Quality Standards/Systems Management

Maintain the internal on line process platform OAL, ensuring that all customer specifications are accurate and audited to ensure compliance.
Responsible for conducting and managing the site internal, and GMP audits, ensuring effective closure and reporting of NC’s to site management.
Work with site quality teams in keeping site ready for unannounced third party and customer audits.
Report on and collate customer data, such as complaints rejections and KPIs
Communicate and maintain all supplier compliance standards with Wealmoor Ltd suppliers.
Customer Assurance

Provide front line response to quality and technical queries from customer and suppliers.
Maintain and manage an up to date pesticide residue & a micro testing programme in line with legal & customer requirements.
Ensure all suppliers due diligence is up to date and meets our customer requirements, including supporting TAM in keeping customer Technical platforms up to date.
Provide technical support for customer visits to Wealmoor Ltd and to suppliers.
Lead and coordinate a product tasting and benchmarking program. Other
Attend supplier / customer / internal meetings
Comprehensive supplier end of season performance reports, for each of our sources.
Establish, build, and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with our suppliers.
Trainee Technologist Requirements:
Educated to Degree Level in a Food Science, Horticulture or Agricultural Based Discipline or equivalent.
Internal Auditing
Balanced customer, supplier, product & process focus, resilient and proactive.
Experience of quality management systems implementation and review
IT Literate
Customer focused, resilient and proactive
Fluent English both written and verbal.
