Learning Support Mentor

Vision for Education are seeking to appoint SEND Learning Support Mentor to work in a North Tyneside SEND School with pupils aged 3-16 years with SEMH and challenging behaviour.
**About the role**:
- All teaching and learning staff are trained in PRICE, a positive behaviour management approach. Continued Professional Development is a high priority and the training programme is designed to meet needs as they arise whilst keeping up to date on core requirements and developments in ASD, ADHD, SEMH and Attachment.
- You will be working with pupils experiencing barriers to learning related to SEMH and other needs and get them to take pride in their learning, communicate effectively and develop pro-social and independent skills. You will be helping students to become responsible, regulated, respectful and ready for the work place. The curriculum delivered includes the Thrive Approach, Forest Schools, Outdoor Education and Team Teach/PRICE to facilitate and support the pupils to take their place in society as successful adults. The curriculum is not just an academic offer, it's function is to guide and educate so that students address and heal any disruptions in their emotional and social development before channelling their energy and focus into achieving qualifications and skills to equip them for the work place.
**About the school**:
The role is full time Monday - Friday 8:30-4pm. The school believes the key to successful outcomes for the students is built upon the relationships developed with the school community. The students have experienced rejection and failure prior to joining the school therefore is the first essential work is to reach out, build trust and rapport and then develop positive relationships as a foundation to offer support, reassurance and challenge.
**Requirements**:
To be considered for the role of Learning Support Mentor - SEMH School - North Tyneside you will:
- Be able to adapt to fast paced situations.
- Previous experience of working with challenging behaviour.
- Be able to deal with difficult and challenging situations.
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
- Previous experience of working with children, young people or vulnerable adults with SEND or relevant experience with challenging behaviour.
