**Job title: Senior UI Designer**

**Job Location: London (1 day / week in office)**

**Job type: 4 months contract with possible extension (inside IR 35 - Umbrella)**

You will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our products. Your primary focus will be to establish and refine our new design system. You will champion consistency and accessibility, ensuring that the design system empowers teams to create exceptional experiences that resonate with our users.

You will have the influence and autonomy to do your job effectively, the ability make significant contributions every day, and push the boundaries of design quality.

**Responsibilities**:

- ** Design System Development**

Lead the creation and evolution of our new design system, including guidelines, patterns, and components, including data visualisations. Ensure that the design system aligns with the company's brand identity and supports a wide range of user interactions.
- ** High-Fidelity Designs**

Collaborate with UX designers to translate wireframes and prototypes into polished, visually appealing, and intuitive UI designs.
- ** Iterative Design Process**

Continuously refine and improve the design system based on user feedback, data insights, and emerging design trends. Advocate for design system adoption and maintain documentation.
- ** Accessibility and Inclusivity**

Ensure that the design system adheres to accessibility best practices, making our products usable and enjoyable for all users.
- ** Collaboration and Communication**

Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand design requirements and effectively communicate design decisions and rationale. Participate in design reviews, providing constructive feedback to UX designers to enhance the quality and consistency of designs.

**Skills**
- Strong understanding of UI design principles, typography, color theory, and layout design
- Solid experience with creating and maintaining design systems, style guides, and component libraries, including data visualisations
- Solid knowledge of user-centred design principles and best practices
- Awareness of accessibility standards (WCAG) and how to implement them in UI designs
- Proficiency in Figma and any other design system tools, e.g. Storybook
- Basic understanding of front-end development principles (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to facilitate effective collaboration with developers
- Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate design decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work collaboratively with UX designers, product managers, and developers to achieve design goals
- Attention to detail - you are meticulous in maintaining consistency and pixel-perfect designs throughout the design system
- Innovative thinking - you are keen on exploring new design trends, techniques, and tools to elevate the design system and overall product experience
