Dorset HealthCare Children and Young People’s Public Health Service are recruiting for a 0-19 Family, Children & Young People’s Emotional Wellbeing & Mental Health Clinical Leadto join our supportive, forward thinking and proactive Leadership team. The role will be a part of a small team of Specialist Public Health Leads.

The 0-19 Family, Children & Young People’s Emotional Wellbeing & Mental Health Clinical Leadwill work Pan Dorset promoting a Whole Family, Whole School Approach (following the PHE 8 principles) to improve emotional wellbeing and mental health and managing their impact on families; parents, infants, children and young people. Training and further development opportunities within the role will be provided.

Previous experience working with Children, Young People and their families in relation to emotional wellbeing and mental health is a key requirement. Car driver essential for networking and meetings across Dorset.

This is a part time permanent role (30hrs), with a flexible working pattern across Mon-Fri, including hybrid working.

Promote use of assessment tools, pathway referrals and evidence-based interventions in relation to emotional wellbeing and mental health, demonstrating impact through use of evidence-based outcome tools and measures

Promote positive attachments, engendering positive outcomes for families, children and young people

Oversee and support delivery of workforce training and development in relation to Emotional wellbeing and mental health

Maintain a network of Perinatal Mental Health, Emotional Well-being and Children and Young People’s Mental Health Champions to support the role

Collaborate with those leading developments for reducing mental health issues for 0-19 young people and their families

Promote and support the development of innovative practice including the provision of digital resources, contact and consultation

Ensure that all service developments and processes are evidence based, comply with local and national standards i.e. PHE and NICE and are delivered consistently pan Dorset

Work with colleagues including IT and Clinical Systems, to ensure that pathways and processes are translated to the clinical record e.g. SystmOne, RiO

Be an active and effective member of the Wessex Perinatal Mental Health Network and other groups as agreed

Develop and maintain productive and effective partnerships with external agencies e.g. Maternity Services, Local Authorities, Family Hubs, Clinical Commissioning Group, Public Health Dorset, local Voluntary and Community Sectors
