- HE4039-23-239**We have an exciting post for a skilled post graduate researcher or clinician to work as part of a research team undertaking vascular assessments during parabolic flights as part of a research study looking at the foot health of astronauts.**

The study is sponsored by, and in collaboration with the UK Space agency and the study aims to establish: 1: which pieces of vascular assessment equipment are suitable for use during parabolic flight, 2: are there any detectable differences in the vascular measurements obtained from participants during 3 different gravitational environments / states.

You will play a key role in the project, including: development and conduction of the pilot study and testing of the equipment housing ready for the flight, to assist in leading the data collection during the parabolic flight week in Bordeaux, recruitment of participants, managing data collection and working with the team to process / evaluate the data obtained and to assist the team with constructing the end of project report ready for return to the UK Space Agency at the end of the project.

To be successful in this post, you should have:

- A good (1 or 2:1) degree, preferably in Podiatry, Nursing, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience of conducting vascular assessments or have experience working with vascular assessment equipment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- The ability to assist with running the pre-flight pilot study
- The ability to assist with the data collection during the main parabolic flight, which will be conducted from Bordeaux, France.

The position is for a full-time post which is fixed term until 31 May 2024 as the UK Space Agency is funding the role until the end of May 2024.

The successful applicant will need to be available to take up this role no later than 1 October 2023.
