**Fixed Term Contract until 31st July 2024**:
**We are seeking a talented and ambitious researcher to join the Institute for Community Research and Development.**

The Institute for Community Research and Development (ICRD) was established in 2017 to undertake applied research that drives policy developments, delivers effective community-based transformational projects, and promotes social mobility. Working collaboratively with local communities, ICRD uses interdisciplinary expertise to affect positive change in local communities, increase knowledge, and shape local and national policy. ICRD works to improve the lives of individuals in the region, and works with partners to champion for change. Our core themes are: inequality and social analysis; immigration and migration; criminal justice and violence reduction.

Researchers in ICRD and the Centre for Psychological Research (CPR) are conducting research on wellbeing and resilience in the Covid-19 era and beyond. The UK faces complex challenges in public health and mental health and this research will explore ways of meeting some of these challenges with a particular focus on wellbeing within communities and for frontline workers.

The University of Wolverhampton is the University of Opportunity and is continuing to invest significantly in its research infrastructure to promote a research active environment, with innovative research, focusing on discovery, informed teaching and scholastic excellence as a means of promoting academic excellence and business and community engagement. It has a long and distinguished history of providing applied research that drives policy developments, of delivering effective community-based transformational projects and of promoting social mobility.

You will have a strong profile and experience of applied research, with relevant and appropriate research methodologies and strong qualitative research skills. You will have experience spanning all stages of the research project cycle, from project design, literature review, to reporting and disseminating. You will have a track record of accessing external funding and strong and flexible teamwork skills. You will be a team-player and demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with partners from across research, practice, third sector and lay communities.

There may be opportunities to contribute to postgraduate supervision and teaching.
