**Job description**:
The Department for Transport (DfT) is offering an exciting opportunity for a professional individual to support the operational delivery of visits for the Secretary of State and Ministers.

Sitting in Group Communications and working closely with the Secretary of State and Ministers Private Office, you will help to deliver the operational aspects of all visits to support DfT meet its objectives.

Working closely with the Transport Secretary and Ministers, the Events & Visits Team forms a key part of the communications mix that promotes our work to restore confidence in the transport system, and advance Britain’s place in the world - policies that never fail to resonate with the public.

- _**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Proactively supporting the planning and delivery of the operational aspects of high-quality ministerial visits and supporting Ministerial Offices with the operations for their visit plans.
- Supporting the development of a strategic pipeline of visits through an invitation triage process and horizon scanning.
- Preparing briefing materials for Ministers and the Transport Secretary in advance of a visit and maintaining a close dialogue with relevant Private Secretary and teams in Communications and Policy.
- Leading on further developing and improving the service provided to junior ministers for their respective ministerial brief.

**About you**:
To be successful, you will need to be someone who has exceptional organisational abilities and have the ability to create strong stakeholder networks.

You can work to tight deadlines under pressure and be able to work at pace with senior colleagues to deliver urgent pieces of work.

**Additional Information**:
A minimum of 40% of your working time should be spent at your principal workplace, although requirements to attend other locations for official business, or carry out detached duty in another DfT workplace, will also count towards this level of attendance.

Regular Domestic travel around UK and some unsociable working hours may be required to support ministerial visits. This is a pivotal part of the role so you must be flexible.
