Are you looking for a full-time role in a skilled area of the STEM sector?
We are currently recruiting for a Food Microbiology Laboratory Assistant to join our team. We are a fast-growing successful food manufacturer based in North Yorkshire, with technologically advanced facilities throughout our business. Our microbiology laboratory is unique as one of a few accredited soft drink testing facilities in the country, with a team of experienced personnel from technical and scientific backgrounds. There will be an opportunity to work within our chemistry laboratories and support with relevant activities.
You will be responsible for:
- Carrying out analyses following accredited/ validated methods and SOPs
- Employing the use of aseptic technique and good laboratory practices
- Raising non-conforming work as/when required
- Ensuring all documentation and activities are completed to the accredited laboratory standard
- Work with other teams to assist in problem solving and implementation of corrective actions
- Has attention to detail.
- Ideally have laboratory experience, but not essential as full training is provided
- Interest in microbiology
- Proficient in basic Microsoft Office skills
- Able to problem solve / take the initiative.
- Happy to work unsupervised.
- Ability to efficiently organise workload.
- Good communication skills.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: £26,059.00-£29,767.50 per year
