A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the nursing team within the General Out-Patient Department at Perth Royal Infirmary. With current focus on transforming out-patient services and delivering a dynamic and changing service you will assist in developing the Senior Health Care support worker role to meet the evolving needs of the out-patient in a modern NHS.
Working alongside Consultants, Specialist nurses, AHPs and non-clinical staff your role will include supporting clinical staff to deliver safe patient centred care, chaperoning, patient assistance, tidying/cleaning and “set up” of the outpatient clinics per session.
You will be expected to assist with simple dressings & run diabetic nurse led clinics with mínimal supervision from the nurse in charge. Therefore, you will be required to take information from patients face to face and record on the relevant databases. You will also be required to take information over the phone and pass this to the relevant practitioner when required. You must therefore, have excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.

All new staff will be supported to develop skills and competencies which will allow them to operate as autonomous practitioners with limited supervision.
You must acknowledge the diversity of individuals respecting their rights, privacy and confidentiality by using inclusive language at all times.
You will be expected to work flexibly and access training across Tayside to meet the needs of this service. These hours will be worked over 4-5 days.
