**The job itself**:
The Supported Housing Team is a CQC registered service that works across local communities to support people who have a learning disability to live as independently as possible in their own homes, or in shared accommodation.

We seek a self -motivated, positive, and committed person, with good core values, to join our team in a part time Senior Care Worker role, working as part of a team across our

24-hour Independent Supported Living Schemes, in the Beverley and East Riding area.

You will have previous experience of working with people, be it in a paid or voluntary capacity, and be able to demonstrate good customer focus and an understanding of the changing needs of older people who have a learning disability. You will be able to offer good verbal and written communication skills, have a person centred and flexible approach, be able to work on your own initiative when lone working, and be able to take a common sense approach to day to day organisation and problem solving, as required. You will have good time management skills and be familiar with support planning and risk assessment processes. You will also be able to work in partnership with families and other agencies. You will have supervisory skills and be able to lead and direct others to ensure high standards of service delivery are maintained for our service users on a day to day basis.

You will hold a full driving licence and have your own vehicle for use for work purposes

(travel mileage allowances paid).

Duties will include working with a small staff team to ensure good standards of support to individuals in their home to support independence and choice in terms of their daily routines and activities. This will include personal care routines, household tasks, menu planning and cooking, medication and health appointments, social activities and outings, employment, hobbies and interests and so on - supporting people to achieve their desired outcomes. You will also ensure good health and safety and administrative recording systems are in place.

Qualification to QCF/ NVQ 2/3 Care Award or equivalent is desirable, as is the willingness to develop skills and undertake required training for the role. (This will include the East Riding Care Certificate portfolio.)

Hours are worked on a shift rota basis, over seven days, including alternate weekends, some sleep in duties, and some bank holidays.
