**Background to the Post**

The Engineering Apprenticeship Academy provides training and assessment for apprenticeships, workplace assessments, full and part-time engineering courses from levels 1 to 3 and Higher Education at the college’s Trident, Leamington Spa, Evesham and Rugby Centres. The post holder will join the existing Engineering team and be responsible to the Workshop Team Leader and Head of Engineering - Workshop and laboratories.

Our Warwick Trident College provides state-of-the-art engineering workshops and laboratories Working in partnership with companies such as Jaguar Land Rover, Warwick Trident College provides first class advanced machining and robotic facilities.

Warwick Trident College is located just a few miles from Royal Leamington Spa College and is accessible by trains to Warwick Parkway or Leamington Spa rail stations, followed by a short bus or taxi journey.

The post holder may be required to work on either a temporary or an indefinite basis at any premises at which we may provide services.

**Essential Attainments**:

- An Assessor award A1, or equivalent or a willingness to achieve the qualification.
- A relevant Level 3 qualification in an engineering discipline is essential.
- A teaching qualification or the willingness to undertake the Certificate of Education. These qualifications are mandatory for all trainers who teach on a publicly funded provision.
- Evidence of formal structured training.
- Experience in one or more of the elements listed below:

- Fitting and assembly;
- Machining (secondary processes);
- Milling.
- Turning
- CNC
- Current experience in an engineering workshop environment, particularly in the elements listed on page one of this job description.
- Vocational experience of working in industry and dealing with customers.
- Experience in working with Awarding Bodies and knowledge of their systems and paperwork.
- Experience in working with outside agencies and organisations.

**Desirable Attainments**:

- The following skills are desirable but not essential:

- Fluid (hydraulic / pneumatic) systems
