**Equans is looking for a Handy Person to join our team at Sandwell General Hospital in West Bromwich on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a salary banding of £22,000 - £24,000 per annum, dependent upon skills and experience and benefits package.**

**What will you deliver?**:

- The Handy Person will be able to assist the team in delivering a comprehensive service by undertaking routine and first line checks for both reactive and planned maintenance workstreams
- Undertake a proactive role in carrying out first response to reactive jobs and complete tasks such as ventilation grille cleans, Light Cleans, unblocking of toilets, meter readings etc. in accordance with relevant standards and operational procedures and in compliance with legislation and guidance
- Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks to services across site on various aspects of the building services in accordance with the PPM programme and personal competence and training
- Minimise penalty deductions by responding in a timely manner to all maintenance issues in accordance with the requirements of the contract
- Assist in carrying out installation work involved in minor upgrading and adaptation works
- Assist in carrying out systematic fault finding in a logical and safe manner on malfunctioning equipment
- Undertake general tidying and cleaning of office and workshop areas
- Check and replenish stored items as required
- Undertake general duties including delivery, stock movement and material deliveries

**Who are we looking for?**:

- Knowledge and understand of a range of mechanical and electrical systems including but not limited to ventilation, pumps, compressors, boilers, medical gases, heating systems, domestic hot and cold-water systems
- GCSE / O Level Mathematics and English or equivalent
- Prepared to work a flexible shift system including nights
- Prepared to travel to other sites within the Company
- Previously worked within a maintenance environment. (Desirable)
- Previously worked within a healthcare maintenance environment (Desirable)

This role includes a DBS Standard check therefore ability to pass is essential.
