**Job Description - Trainee Baker / Driver**

**Department**:Bakery

**Responsible to**: Kitchen Manager/General Manager

**Working with**: Kitchen team, bakery team, FOH team, delivery drivers

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Contributing to day to day running of the kitchen space as designated by line managers.
- Complete staff handover sheet.
- Report informally to your line manager.
- Assist in keeping kitchen and storage areas clean, clear, easy to use and well organised.
- Practise relevant Health & Safety and Fire Safety procedures.
- To report maintenance issues to line manager
- Prepare and cook food items following agreed guidelines.
- Practise a good presentation standard.
- Practise relevant health, safety and fire safety standards.
- Adhere to legislation with regard to food hygiene and safety.
- Adhere to opening and closing procedures.
- Wear the appropriate uniform and ensure that it is clean.
- Keep records where necessary.
- Follow the guidelines for ecologically friendly practises as laid down by the company.
- Self-develop.
- To assist in cleaning and maintaining the kitchen, and other communal areas.
- Be prepared to develop in all areas of food production where needed, including but not limited to cafe kitchen menu items.
- Drive our Trove van for delivery's and movement of stock

**Skills**
- Able to use weights and measures.
- Full clean UK driving licence
- To be able to work under pressure.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy.
- Ability to lift, carry, pull and push kitchen items.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to cooperate with team members.
- Understand the importance of food presentation.

**Staffing and Customer Service**
- Practice punctuality, good attendance and a good attitude.
- Practice both personal and kitchen cleanliness and hygiene.
- Be respectful of the needs of the customer.
- Model good behaviour and appropriate voice levels.
- Participate in staff meetings and training as and when required.
- Carry out any duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the post as reasonably requested.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: Up to £10.42 per hour
