The **Community Liaison Officer** provides a liaison service with neighbours, the local community, visiting professionals and the clients, volunteers, and staff of LDHAS in line with its aims and objectives. The post holder will ensure that good relations are maintained with the neighbours of LDHAS and with the local community. They will ensure that LDHAS clients in the immediate vicinity of the building are conducting themselves in an acceptable way. They will motivate and enable clients as they engage with LDHAS. They will liaise with a variety of homeless hub organisations as required. They will manage footfall in the building ensuring that health and safety protocols and procedures are maintained throughout the building during the hours of opening. They will assist the Support worker with clothing, shower, and laundry facility management.

The Community Liaison Officer will be required to work Monday to Friday, from 9.15 am to 1.15 pm., and will be entitled to 5.6 weeks paid annual leave and the benefit of enrollment into the LDHAS NEST Pension Scheme.

Here are some of the duties and expectations required of the role:
- **Communication**

1. Have a communication style which motivates and enables people.

2. Establish and maintain relationships and gain the cooperation of others. This requires the skills to motivate, negotiate, persuade, and empathise.

3. Provide advice and guidance to others.

4. Act as an ambassador for vulnerable people

5. Maintain effective communication with line manager.

6. Promote a culture of equality and diversity within the services provided.

7. Network with people from other agencies

**Analytical and judgement skills**

1. Provide a liaison service with neighbours, the local community, visiting professionals and the clients, volunteers, and staff of LDHAS in line with its aims and objectives.

2. Ensure that LDHAS clients in the immediate vicinity of the building are conducting themselves in an acceptable way and action support as needed.

**Planning and organisation skills**

1. Coordinate footfall and client and visiting professional requests through the day.

2. Contribute to reports and provide feedback when necessary.

**Client care**

1. Support clients to share their experiences and to resolve inter-personal issues.

2. Support clients on their journey of recovery

3. Signpost to other support networks or agencies as needed.

**Responsibilities for policy and service development**

1. Provide comments on the development of policies and procedures.

2. Contribute ideas for service development and opportunities for clients.

**Responsibility for human resources**

1. Work effectively with LDHAS neighbours and the local community

2. Work effectively with staff from other agencies

**Responsibility for information resources**

1. Ensure clients records are updated.

2. Ensure regular input and maintenance of records on LDHAS database to ensure reports produced have all up to date data.

**Research and development**

1. Participate in audits and surveys as needed.

**Freedom to act**

1. The post holder is required to use their initiative in the role, acting independently and seeking advice as needed.

2. Work is managed rather than supervised.

3. The post holder is responsible for their own activities and work plan.

4. The post holder is responsible for identifying their learning needs and contributing to their development plan.

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: £14,092.00-£15,344.00 per year
