**About the role**:
Our TrainCare Centre operates 7 days a week, and day to day you will be working to the instructions of the Plant Team Leader & Quality and Facilities Manager. You’ll be responsible for servicing, maintenance, repair and overhaul of plant installations, components, buildings and infrastructure to the Northern work standard and specifications.

**Key responsibilities**:This is a varied and challenging role, but here is a taste of what your day-to-day activities could include but are not limited to:

- You’ll be responsible for planning routine workload and repairs to complete maintenance work within specified time scales.
- Carry out minor plant and equipment repairs as required.
- You’ll be responsible for controlling material in the plant store to ensure constant supply of specialised plant materials and consumables.
- Operation of plant and equipment in accordance with proficiency certification where required.
- Undertake periodic quality checks of coolant, effluent, and de-ionised water supplies.
- You’ll also be undertaking any painting and associated surface weatherproofing where competent.
- You’ll be working with an experienced team, who will support you in developing your career and skills.

**About you**:
If you fancy doing your thing as a L5 Senior Plant Team Member, your greatest strengths will be good communication skills, tenacity to get a job completed, working as a team or on your own initiative. You will also have to abide by strict railway instructions to maintain high standards, rest assured this is, both an exciting and varied role. We are also looking for the following:

- Some practical ability and understanding of plumbing, building, mechanical and electrical principles, plant systems and techniques, including schematics (air, hydraulic and electrical)
- Ability to operate mechanical and electrical appliances.
- Strong ability to read and understand technical and safety related instructions.
- Someone with good attention to detail and who takes pride in their work to strive to do the best they can.
- Willingness to work outside in all weather conditions throughout the year.
- Someone who can demonstrate ability to work on own initiative.
- Flexibility to work over the contracted hours if Req, in line with our customer expectations.
