Accounting Controller to Workington Mill

Holmen Iggesund is a Swedish company and a member of the Holmen Group. The Workington Mill produces premium paperboard under the brand Incada. Our paperboard is an integral part of the shopping experience for our clients’ customers. Since 2013 we have powered the mill almost entirely by fossil fuel free energy. We value our employees and products highly. Today we are approximately 340 co-workers. Our integrated pulp and paperboard mill is located to the west of the beautiful Lake District in the north of England.
**Your future challenge**:
**Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Accounting Controller will ensure:

- Internal reporting is accurate, compliant and to timetable.
- Suitable controls operate to protect company assets.
- External reporting complies with required standards and meets timescales.
- Carry out VAT reporting and Fixed cost analysis
- Contribute to Statutory Financial reporting.
- Maintain effective internal control procedures.
- Liaising with internal and external financial auditors.
- Be aware of and compliant with Holmen Finance policy and Finance guidelines.
**The successful Accounting Controller will possess**:
- Professional Accountancy qualification - ICAEW, ACCA or equivalent.
- Excellent knowledge of Company Law, Tax and Accounting rules.
- Excellent knowledge of production process and financial controls.
In addition to the above, the following is desirable:
- Good knowledge of the company’s IT systems.
- Proven commercial awareness and business acumen.
- Experience in both working environment and Health and Safety.
- Excellent inter-personal skills.
