**The Opportunity:
**The posts are based within a small and friendly team which is located within the Main Library, George Square, Edinburgh.

A priority for the team is achieving full spend of the c.£8.2M Library Materials Budget and the postholders will support the Content Acquisition & Access Manager and the Content Acquisitions Coordinators by liaising with external suppliers and internal colleagues to ensure timely and accurate payments for library resource acquisitions and subscriptions.

The postholders will also line manage and supervise the team of Acquisitions Assistants in the purchase and lifecycle management of library materials to maximise the provision of content in support of teaching. This includes maintaining current knowledge of relevant purchase models for e-books and eTextbooks which can be a fast-changing environment.
- Working knowledge of academic book and periodical supply
- Understanding of library consortial purchasing and procurement requirements
- Experience of developing and maintaining supplier relationships
- Experience in the use of integrated library management systems such as Alma
- Ability to rapidly respond to and cascade technological, policy and procedural changes
- Ability to provide ongoing training and development of staff
- An ability to work to deadlines in a high-pressured environment
- Excellent communication, written and interpersonal skills
