Factory Operative

**Schedule - Monday to Thursday Day SHIFT**
**This position involves the following**:
- Take the parts off the machine as they are produced.
- Break the feed off the part either by hand or using a dedicated hydraulic press at the machine to trim them
- Inspect each part for obvious casting faults (metal missing, cracks etc.)
- Filing, sanding or removing excess metal (flash) from each part or doing some other form of operation and ideally, keeping pace with the machine output
- Flagging to others any faults or defects on the part early so it can be addressed / improved by others who may need to change the machine settings or by some other activity.
- Stacking and packing the parts into the correct containers and in the correct way. This includes filling out by hand, a bin card to identify each container of parts
- Completing the operator time sheet by hand at the end of each shift to record how many parts are made and how many scrap etc
- There may be other tasks such as moving good parts, scrap or other materials using a pallet truck or similar method or other related general operations
**The operator will need to be**
- Literate (to understand the quality check paperwork and other internal documents)
- Ability to communicate in English (to understand instructions and enable adequate training)
- Ability to learn (to be trained on how to stop / start the machine and learn what defects to look for, how to conduct the quality checks, H&S procedures etc. )
- Able to concentrate for long periods (it is easy to miss a defect and create a lot of scrap if you “switch off” mentally)
**What the position offers**:
- £12.30 per hour - 44 hour week
- Training and development
- A full time/permanent position
- 3 day weekend
