Operatives within our organisation can choose to specialise in a diverse range of disciplines. For this particular role, you will become a specialist in **Track**

As a specialist in this area, your responsibilities will revolve around maintaining, inspecting, and repairing the track network, also known as the Permanent Way or P-Way. This involves ensuring the railway's safety and efficiency by working with rails, sleepers, ballast, drainage systems, and related structures.

As an operative, you will work outdoors in all weather conditions, day or night, and be involved in demanding manual tasks. You may need to navigate challenging terrains while transporting equipment. Being safety-focused, respectful of rules, and a team player are crucial qualities, as you will often work in close proximity to moving trains traveling at high speeds.

The team relies on you as the dependable individual who arrives first and leaves last, ensuring that the van and equipment are thoroughly checked and prepared for each shift. Your responsibility includes driving the team to various sites and providing lookout duties to ensure the safety of the entire team.
