Location: Francis Crick Institute, Kings Cross London (high flex - we would expect you to be in the office 1 to 2 days per week)

**Salary**: £30,000 - £37,000 pa depending on experience + benefits

Contract Type / Hours: Fixed Term Contract for 12 months / Full time 35 hours per week (Other flexible-working requests can also be considered if they meet business needs)

What will I be doing?

We have a twelve-month fixed term opportunity for you to join us as a Gift Associate in our Philanthropy directorate. This role will support the front-line fundraising work of principal gift fundraisers for the Francis Crick Institute (the Crick). We need you to coordinate the work streams for frontline activities on behalf of the principal gifts programme including assisting with donor communications; developing gift proposals and liaising across internal teams to advance principal gift activity at the direction of and on behalf of principal gifts. Additionally, you will assist with meeting coordination and the creation of meeting briefs, notes, and other supporting materials.

This is an exciting time to join the CRUK philanthropy team, as we prepare to launch an ambitious multi-million-pound fundraising campaign in 2024.This role will support activity and projects to ensure we can meet expected outcomes during this period of growth.

Key duties include:
- Support the senior principal gift fundraiser(s) in all aspects of frontline fundraising activity, including the organising and preparation for donor meetings and events, preparation of briefings, meeting collateral, and relevant materials, preparation of file notes, contact reports, and prospect updating of the database, as required. This may involve travel and itinerary planning.- Work with the Prospect Research team and fundraisers across the Crick to assist in identifying engagement, cultivation and stewardship opportunities for prospects, helping to track donor cultivation and solicitation steps.- Work with frontline fundraisers to draft briefings for leadership and volunteers.- Oversee the active use of the database (Siebel) to record and track donor activity on behalf of the principal gift fundraisers. Work with appropriate CRUK colleagues to maintain a donor and prospect tracker for the fundraisers; work with colleagues from Services to produce reports and other data to inform the tracker and fundraisers; and review lists for donor recognition, event invitations, and other oversight of donor data.- Support the frontline fundraisers in creating regular and effective movement through the supporter journey for identified prospects. This will involve supporting the development and execution of individual moves management plans and strategies, drafting correspondence and helping execute opportunities for engagement.

What skills are we looking for?- Knowledge and experience of fundraising and working in a fundraising operation. Familiarity with basic fundraising principles and strategies.- Excellent customer service skills (donor-centric).- Excellent project management and organisation skills with strong attention to detail; excellent writing skills with strong comfort with technology (knowledge of databases, Excel, PowerPoint and other platforms).- Demonstrated experience of successful multi-tasking against often competing deadlines.- Ability to synthesize large amounts of information and make a recommendation; ability to track down information from a variety of sources; ability to evaluate problems accurately and display good, sound, and confidential judgment.- Excellent stakeholder management and people skills and ability to work with, and communicate effectively and professionally with, a wide range of individuals. Able to influence and persuade others.- Curiosity to learn and interest in major gift fundraising; motivated and excited by science and the opportunity to be part of the Crick’s and/or CRUK’s campaign and growing philanthropy effort.- Highly professional, flexible and committed to going above and beyond the remit of the role to achieve and exceed targets. Prepared to take on a wide variety of tasks. Have a “can do” attitude and a demonstrated ability to problem solve.
