Interim Finance Manager

Are you available at short notice and looking for a new challenge? If so, our client, a growing business with extensive growth plans on the outskirts of Shropshire, is looking for a Finance Manager for 6-9 months for maternity cover; to ensure the Companymeets its critical financial, operational and strategic objectives. The role offers hybrid working and is flexible to accommodate part-time working hours.
The Role
You will be the number one Finance professional on-site, a key member of the local site team, supporting and reporting directly to the Managing Director. The role is hands-on, primarily supporting, controlling, and managing all aspects of the finance function,delivering against key objectives, and ensuring a coordinated approach aligned with the Company's future strategy. The role requires the usual site Finance Manager duties and some operational and commercial improvement projects.
Responsibilities include:
- **Financial Control and Reporting** for the monthly financial results. This includes maintaining robust and timely financial reporting, completing monthly management accounts, understanding variances and ensuring all day-to-day accounting iscompleted accurately and the preparation of management reports for the business, including providing analytical direction and actions to achieve the targeted results;
- **External Accounting** Preparation and submission of the VAT and liaison with external accountants for year-end preparation;
- **Operational Excellence** in maintaining management reporting, cash flow forecasting and KPI, sales and gross profit margins by work stream in line with strategic targets;
- **Business Partner** both the executive team on strategic decisions and take an active role in with local operational management on commercial and financial matters; to identify, evaluate and propose productivity and performance improvementsfor the business;
- **Initiatives and Ad hoc projects** - working with the Operational Managing Director and Board on Financial and Operational initiatives across the Company.
The background and key attributes
- Be a qualified accountant, either ACMA/ACCA/ACA;
- Demonstrable hands-on accounting experience within the retail /leisure sector;
- A strong background in cashflow forecasting;
- Proven experience in leading a small team;
- Strong drive to ensure there is continuous improvement and getting things done;
- Working alongside highly motivated board members, you must be able to back up your thoughts with solid arguments and evidence for the best of the business;
- Be IT literate (Excel, PowerPoint,) with financial modelling, analysis and evaluation skills;
- Confident with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organisation and with third parties.
In return:
**Salary**: £50,000-£60,000 or day rate
Duration: 6-9 months
Hours: 3 - 5 days with flexible working
Location: Bridgnorth
