Senior Digital Support Officer

Are you interested in being part of a team supporting digital transformation for Adult Social Care and contributing to an NHS England National Programme for delivery across the South East London footprint? We have an exciting new opportunity to recruit four Senior Digital Support Officer roles for South East London, working closely with Care Homes in South East London to deliver improved digital tools and compliance within Adult Social Care settings. The posts will be for 12 months fixed term contract or secondment from other NHS organisation from the start date.

To support the six Boroughs across SE London as part of the NHS response to support the digitalisation of Social Care. The aim of the work is to support Care Homes and Domiciliary Care organisations to use digital tools, firstly by ensuring they are Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) compliant and then support them through the introduction and implementation of Digital Social Care Records (DSCR).

The Senior Digital Support Officer (SDSO) will be part of a team aligned to specific boroughs within SEL to ensure full DSPT compliance and to adhere to targets set by NHSE for digitalising adult social care. The postholder will have a portfolio of care homes within their remit and are expected to liaise and work virtually and face to face with each care home. Acting as the main point of contact to support care homes, to develop and implement their digital transformation for better data sharing, meeting national compliance standards and improved patient pathways between services for care home residents.

The SDSO will work both autonomously and within the team to be able to adapt the support offer and delivery to care homes within their portfolio with the office base in Tooley Street and with the expectation of visiting sites within the assigned portfolio. The SDSO will have objectives to support care homes to deliver and identify opportunities for crossover with other areas of digital transformation such as within primary care services and through the NHS App.

The South East London Integrated Care System (ICS) brings together the health and care partners that serve our vibrant and highly diverse populations resident in the London boroughs of Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark - our Places.

Our partnership brings together six local authorities, over 200 general practices (operating within 35 Primary Care Networks), Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital NHS FT, King’s College Hospital NHS FT, Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust, South London and the Maudsley Mental Health FT and Oxleas FT. Importantly, the ICS seeks to be connected to the communities we serve (circa 1.92m residents) and work with the widest possible range of community, voluntary and third sector groups and organisations in each borough. The reach of our NHS provider portfolios extends beyond the borders of the ICS, across London, the south of England and nationally for some services.

The South East London ICB is the NHS management unit of the ICS. It is accountable both to NHS England and to the South East London Integrated Care Partnership (ICP).

The postholder will have experience of project management and stakeholder management to deliver outcomes as well as negotiation and influencing skills. They will need an adaptable approach and be solution-focused to be able to overcome obstacles with delivery.

As this is a senior role, the postholder will need to be able to work independently as well as within the team and be able to manage their own workload and time management effectively. Experience of working within a digital healthcare or social care environment is essential to be able to lead the projects within the designated portfolio.
