Transport Planner

Due to continued growth, Burcombe Haulage are looking for a Transport Planner to join our General Haulage department.

Working alongside the General Haulage Manager you will assist in the planning of vehicles, allocate work to drivers and liaise with customers and sub-contractors. Assist in finding and securing backloads and all other aspects of general haulage. As part of the role you will be working on our Transport Management System, inputting jobs. We are therefore looking for someone with strong IT skills, a good communicator, who is organised, proactive and able to cope under pressure. You must be able to adapt quickly with sudden changes in planning, who works well on their own and as part of a team - **attention to detail is vital.**

Experience and knowledge of the transport industry and drivers hours regulations would be a distinct advantage but not essential as full training will be provided.
This is will a full time, permanent position weekdays with some weekends and evenings on-call (rota basis) when required.
