We specialise in supporting adults with complex needs, profound and multiple learning disabilities, and behaviours that challenge.

**Douglas Road** is a respite facility for up to eight adults. The service is dynamic and caters for people with varying levels of need. People come to our service for a break and could stay for a number of days or weeks. The people we support are always changing which makes it an interesting, fast-paced and rewarding place to work.

We have a vacancy for someone to join our team working 30 hours a week. The role works shifts during the day between 8am and 4pm, including weekend working.

Although this role is based primarily at Douglas Road, Newcastle, there may be times when you are expected to work flexibly across Provider Services, including different care settings, delivery approaches, and locations, as required.

Main Responsibilities
**In this role you will**:

- deliver a high-quality domestic service, providing a clean and safe living and work space.
- liaise with the support team and involve the people we support to devise a schedule to meet the needs of the service in accordance with support plans and risk assessments.
- communicate and interact effectively with individuals, colleagues, and others creating positive relationships
- comply with IPC (Infection Prevention and Control), hygiene safety and quality standards.

**What you will bring**
- be enthusiastic about working with people with learning disabilities and autism
- be caring, sensitive and patient while supporting people to be as independent as possible.
- written and verbal communication skills
- the ability to relate positively to the people we support.
- literacy and numeracy skills sufficient to plan cleaning schedules and order supplies.
- able to keep accurate records, both digital and paper based.

**What you will have**
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures including being able to demonstrate an understanding of COSHH implications for materials/supplies
- Ability to demonstrate an understanding of infection control principles (including hazard compliance)
