**Job Purpose**:

- To work in conjunction with Site Management to safely deliver throughput of waste in the Transfer Station.
- Be responsible for the waste management, processes and standards on site.
- Identify and implement innovations and continuous improvements.
- To ensure all health and safety / environmental policies and procedures are always adhered to.

**Principal duties and responsibilities**
- Daily pre use inspections to be carried out on all plant machinery and defects reported.
- Loading and unloading incoming and outgoing loads.
- Processing contents of wheelie bins into appropriate storage containers.
- Maximising value with waste on site through permitted activities.
- Ensuring sumps on site have sufficient capacity and pumped out if required.
- Ensure all waste streams are segregated and stored safely and compliantly in accordance with site and Axil health & safety policies, Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work and any relevant policies and procedures..
- Adhering to current company policies, procedures and legislation.
- Working with all regulations set out by the HSE, EA any other regulatory board.
- Proactively support and embed a generative safety culture.
- Any other reasonable duties as and when required.
- Operate safely ensuring our H&S policies / procedures, risk assessments, and safe systems are always adhered to.
- Always maintain a high standard and well organised waste area.
- Undertake training provided to assist you in your role
- Encourage a positive work environment and culture for all employees.
- Provide solutions, continuous improvements, and innovations.
- All near misses, incidents, and accidents are to be reported via our incident reporting app.

**Essential Qualifications**
- FLT licence (preferred)
- Waste management experience (preferred)
- Health and safety (preferred)
- Manual Handling (Training will be given if needed)
- IT - basic skills required

**Key Success Factors**
- Adhering to current company policies, procedures and legislation
- Strong relationships with other Site Operatives, Chemists and Management

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £22,000.00-£24,000.00 per year
