Our client, one of the UK's most innovative recycling companies, are looking to recruit a Senior Operations Manager to join their growing team.

This will be a crucial role within their business, with a diverse range of job responsibilities including customer service, managing drivers and depots and supporting business development

Currently they have 3 depots but are looking to expand this to 5 within the next 18 months. They have a combination of HGV (class 2) and vans which they use for collections.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Management of drivers across the depots including recruitment, training and pay. (They currently have depots in Reading, Ossett, St Austell and Margate).
- Meeting KPIs around collection costs, service levels and vehicle costs.
- Managing 2 transport planners that report into the role as well as the customer service team in the call centre.
- Managing the sub-contracted collection partners and developing new partners to aid growth.
- Liaising with our workshop to manage fleet repairs and help reduce vehicle maintenance costs.
- Management of depots including movement of consumables between depots to enable collections, site management, forklifts and yard teams.
- The role includes the opportunity to develop the logistics function through implementing new software, reviewing the vehicle tracking systems and data collection systems.
- This is a customer-facing role, managing the relationship with clients and driving volumes and quality of materials.

**Key Requirements**:

- A proven track record of driver management and development.
- Experience of developing and managing sub-contractors to aid collections and business development.
- Experience of managing a vehicle fleet, both HGV and vans.
- Experience of dealing with Clients and account management.
- Must be IT literate with a good understanding of MS Word and Excel.
- Strong communication skills with a proven track record of successfully dealing with different stakeholders in an organisation.
- Highly organised with a strong attention to detail.
