The Deputy Head of Care role is a significant element of the leadership and management of Eaton Hall. An important component of this post is leading and managing a team of talented support staff. The role includes working closely with the Head of Care in strategic development of the residential provision, line managing and running supervision for Senior and Childcare Officers, chairing meetings, working closely with parents, carers and agencies to support social and educational outcomes and attending SLT meetings to consider the strategic oversight of the school. It is essential the applicant should have excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to prioritise his/her own workload in our busy working environment and hold a full driving licence. The applicant must also be reliable, persistent and loyal, with a good sense of humour and strength of character.

The Academy is a residential special school for boys in the age range 7 - 16 with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Pupils arrive with disrupted educational experiences and complex difficulties and our team will be responsible for ensuring that they leave with superb outcomes academically, socially and behaviourally.

As evidence of this the Academy runs a very strong staff support and development programme.

The position is permanent and required for term time only plus 5 training days. The weeks worked are 39 weeks; therefore payment is pro rata over 12 equal monthly payments per year.

The postholder will need to be able to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing in order to undertake the requirements of the role.
